Designed by Dutch textile designer Mae Engelgeer and woven in San Jacinto, a municipality in the North of Columbia, the Chumbes cylinder cushion features an intricate stripe design inspired by the Chumbe Inga, a traditional Colombian garment. Two different hand-woven motifs create a ribbed structure that is pleasant to the touch while metallic threads give it a pleasing lustrous shine.

Similar to the hammocks that are produced in the region, the textiles are woven by craftswomen using vertical looms. It takes up to ten days for the women artisans to produce one cushion. Chumbes makes a lively addition to any sofa or lounge chair.
